Communication with the School

At Ennis National School, we value positive home-school relationships to ensure that pupils fully benefit from everything our school has to offer. We are committed to open communication and providing multiple channels for you to stay informed about your child’s progress and school events.

Aladdin Connect

To make communication as efficient as possible, we offer the Aladdin Connect App, a secure and convenient tool for parents to stay connected with school updates and their child’s academic journey.

Key Features of Aladdin Connect:

  1. Communication: Receive important messages, notices, and updates directly on your device, keeping you informed about school events and essential information.
  2. Secure ePayments: Make secure online payments for school-related activities, reducing the need for cash or cheques and streamlining the payment process.
  3. School Reports Access: Access your child’s reports and assessments conveniently, supporting your involvement in their progress throughout the year.
  4. Attendance Information: Track attendance in real-time. Notify the school of absences directly through the app, ensuring accurate records.
  5. Data Security: Aladdin Connect complies with GDPR, using advanced encryption to safeguard personal information shared with the school.

For setup assistance, please contact our school office, and you will receive a registration link to start using Aladdin Connect.

Communication with the School

We generally operate an “open door” policy, meaning parents can see the Principal at any time. For specific queries or if you wish to speak with a particular staff member, please follow these guidelines:

  • Email Communication: The preferred method for general inquiries is via email at info@ennisns.ie. This is typically the fastest way to address your query.
  • Phone Calls: If calling the school, please leave a message if you reach the answering machine, and your call will be returned.
  • Messages via Aladdin Connect: If your child is absent, please use the messaging system on Aladdin Connect upon their return to inform the school.
  • Appointments: If your child has a scheduled appointment, kindly inform the class teacher in advance. For early pickups or late arrivals, please use the “Attendance Notes” feature on Aladdin Connect:
    • For early collection: Log into Aladdin Connect, click on Attendance Notes, select My Child Will Be Collected Early, input details, and send.
    • For late arrivals or absent days: Follow similar steps to ensure accurate attendance records.

Parent-Teacher Meetings

Parent-Teacher meetings take place in the Spring, scheduled through an online booking system. These 10-minute sessions offer an important opportunity to discuss your child’s progress, including their strengths, areas for improvement, and social development. Before the meeting, you may wish to talk to your child about any specific topics they’d like you to address. Meetings provide valuable insight for teachers as well, supporting your child’s success through a shared understanding of their needs.
