Ennis NS Parents’ Association Minutes of meeting held 9th May 2017
- Board Of Management Update:
- The Board are delighted to announce the appointment of Mr. Brian Troy as the new Vice Principal.
10th of May is the Junior Infant information day. A newsletter has been drawn up detailing the work of the Parents Association and other volunteers and encouraging new parents to get involved. - An update was given in relation to the on-going discussions with the County Council re the road to the school car park and also the proposal to move the pedestrian crossing to the Woodhaven Estate.
- The results of the recent cycle survey were presented to the committee to hold onto. The results have already been posted on the ENS Parents Information Facebook page.
- The Board are delighted to announce the appointment of Mr. Brian Troy as the new Vice Principal.
- 6th Year Hoodies: All orders are completed.
- Holy Communion 13th May
- Volunteers are required to help set up the halla on Friday 12th from 2:15. Volunteers for the actual reception on Saturday are required from 10:30am.
- The photographer from County Photos is to come to the school only.
- All donations of baked goods very welcome.
- Maureen Griffin Talk: We have booked Dr. Maureen Griffin for a talk on Tuesday 30th May at 7 O’Clock. This talk will be open to the public and will cost €5 per person. This fee will be used purely to cover Dr. Griffin’s fee (€800).
- Annual Fun Day / Sports Day: The date has been provisionally set for 14th June (weather dependent). Information will be posted on the ENS Parents facebook page inviting them to volunteer later in the month.
- Graduation: 6th class graduation ceremony will be held on Thursday 29th June. The halla will need to be set up earlier in the day and the refreshment counter set up. Volunteers will be required for this.
- 2nd Quiz Night: The quiz night took in €320 at the door, €180 was given out as spot prizes. €140 was given to the school.
- Any Other Business: There was a suggestion about introducing some artwork acknowledging the diversity in nationalities at our school. Perhaps a mural with the word ‘Welcome’ painted in all the different national languages of our students. Further discussion to take place.
