This policy applies to all “internet-enabled devices” including - but not limited to - computers, Chromebooks, iPads, laptops, smartphones, smartwatches, and other IT resources connected to the internet. Ennis National School is a member of the Ennis Parish Primary Catholic Schools Agreed Application System. The Agreed Application System is the process by which 1st level entry (2nd class in Holy Family Senior School, Junior Infants in all other schools) to any of the participating schools will be managed. The underpinning principles of the system are; inclusivity, equality and respect for diversity. The policy informs you of the procedures that are put in place. Part of this policy is Appendix 1 - ASD Class Admission Guidelines and Appendix 2 - Reading Class Admission Guidelines.
Annual Admission Notice
The Board of Management of Ennis National School shall, each year, prepare a notice (in this Part referred to as an ‘annual admission notice’) in respect of the admission of students to the school for the school year concerned.

Checklist for Review of the Child Safeguarding Statement
The Child Protection Procedures for Primary and Post-Primary Schools (revised 2023) require that the Board of Management must undertake a review of its Child Safeguarding Statement and that the following checklist shall be used for this purpose. The review must be completed every year or as soon as practicable after there has been a material change in any matter to which the Child Safeguarding Statement refers. Undertaking an annual review will also ensure that a school also meets its statutory obligation under section 11(8) of the Children First Act 2015, to review its Child Safeguarding Statement every two years.

Dignity at Work
The policy is formulated in light of the Labour Relations Commission’s Codes of Practice S.I. No.17/2002 and S.I. 208/2012 for addressing bullying in the workplace and harassment/sexual harassment respectively, together with the Health & Safety Authority Code of Practice for Employers and Employees on the Prevention and Resolution of Bullying at Work 2021. The policy is informed by the Working Together 2024– Ag Obair Le Chéile document, which was prepared by the following management bodies: the Catholic Primary Schools Management Association, the Church of Ireland Board of Education, Educate Together, An Forás Pátrúnachta, the National Association of Boards of Management in Special Education, the Muslim Primary Education Board. Regular review of this policy and discussions based upon it will take place as often as is practicable, and / or when updated Codes of Practice are introduced.

Ennis National School Healthy Eating Policy enables our school to develop and maintain a shared philosophy on all aspects of food and drink, including: developing consistent messages about healthy eating across the curriculum. Ensuring consistency between the messages within the curriculum and food available in the school.

Parents Complaints Procedure
The revised Parental Complaints Procedure for primary schools in Ireland, set to take effect from January 1, 2024, offers a structured, transparent way for parents and guardians to address concerns related to their child's schooling. This updated procedure was developed collaboratively by the Irish National Teachers’ Organisation (INTO) and major school management bodies, including the Catholic Primary Schools Management Association (CPSMA) and Educate Together. It aims to facilitate early and constructive resolution of issues, promoting efficient communication between parents and schools in a fair, respectful manner.

Relationships and Sexuality Education Policy
All schools are required to have an RSE policy to detail how RSE is taught in the school, including the sensitive aspects. This policy is an approved approach to the teaching of Relationships and Sexuality Education (RSE). It was developed to inform teachers and parents as to what material is covered in the RSE programme within SPHE both formally and informally.
