Ms. Kelly’s Work May 6th – May 8th
Dear Parents and children,
I hope you all had a lovely May Bank Holiday weekend. We have been very fortunate with the weather and thankfully are getting to spend a lot of time outdoors. Unfortunately, we will not be returning to school before the Summer holidays which is very disappointing but it is important for everyone to be kept safe.
This week is a short week in terms of work and hopefully with the 5km restriction increase, you may be in a position to collect your child’s workbooks from school today. The book rental reader ‘What a Box’ will not be in their bundle and for anyone who purchased that book themselves, it will be returned to your child once we return to school.
With that in mind, your child might like to complete any of the pages in their workbooks that they have been given to work on so far and that would be great.
In terms of the reader, ‘What a Box’ if you log on to www.edcolearning.ie and login by entering the username: primaryedcobooks and the password: edco2020 you will be brought onto their online books. If you select English and scroll down you will come across the reader your child is currently reading. It has an audio function so the page can be read to your child. There is also a skills books called, ‘Zeb and Friends’ and this has plenty of work based on the stories.
Another very handy resource for at home is https://toytheater.com/category/teacher-tools/virtual-manipulatives/ . It is free and covers a range of areas. It is fantastic in terms of Maths, if you select the teacher tools tab for example and click on dice. You can select how many dice you want to be thrown and your child can write the sum and answer in their maths copy. Adding dices will increase difficulty.
I look forward to hearing from you all
King Regards
Ms.Kelly
