BLAST: Arts in Education.
Recently in Mr. Flanagan’s class, we were given the opportunity to work with local artist, David O’Rourke, as part of the BLAST initiative with the Clare education centre. David visited our class every Monday evening for a number of weeks to complete different projects with the children and taught us about different types of art. We practiced using watercolours, wax resist, carbon paper, pattern making and focussed on Newgrange, the Burren and characters from fairytales. The children really enjoyed it and learned a lot.
