Astronaut Norah Patten visits Ennis NS

4th class pupil Mary entered an art competition for a most amazing prize and she won! The prize was a visit to the school by Irish astronaut Dr. Norah Patten. Originally from Mayo, Norah is part of Project PoSSUM and hopefully will be the first Irish person in space in the near future.

Norah has been passionate about space since a family trip to NASA at age 11 and is now a faculty member of the International Space University. It was lovely for the children to hear her speak about space in such a personal way.

We wish her well with her proposed space trip – we will be watching with interest!
