Cycling Workshops

On Thursday May 31st and Friday June 1st, Green-Schools travel officer and qualified cycle trainer Roisin Garvey  visited the school and ran workshops in bike maintenance and cycle training with all 4th and 6th class students.  Pupils brought in their own bikes and helmets on the day so we could make sure both were fitting them properly in preparation for the giant cycle event on national cycle to school day on 13th June. Roisin covered tyre pressure, chains, saddle height, gears, rules of road, hand signals strong start and emergency stopping. The children really enjoyed the workshops in the glorious sunshine.
